I have been quiet about a pretty big thing in my life for about a week now. I had my last cigarette 9 days ago. I haven't had a single craving and I smell fabulous! :) The only problem? Chocolate and salt have been my friends - we're talkin' "please call me every 5 minutes" best friends! I have to find a way to begin to get active and stick with it. I had been planning on starting a walking regime this week but it's done nothing but rain.
My car was in the shop yesterday at 915am and I just picked it up today. It's been crazy and hectic and so.. there are my "excuses" for not walking. I am hoping that the weather clears up sometime soon so that I can really get started. I find that I get very hungry (in my head I'm sure) around the times that I used to smoke. I'm not having a problem in the evenings which is strange. I used to smoke and then watch tv before bed with a snack. Now I don't need the snack but I eat all day.
Finances are tighter than tight until payday on Friday. Like, I have toll money and that's it tight.. Guess that's the only real news for tonight.
Have a great night folks!

ps.. if you've quit smoking - any hints on staying away from "my friends?"

Wel, the being broke thingie kinda helps with keeping away from them....also- anytime you want a puff of your "friend" just think of all the MINUTES or HOURS you already have invested in quitting- and how if you take a puff- you have to start it all over again. It's how I've thought about my vice I gave up in 1989...April 26th, 1989......now THAT's a LONG time to have to start over from...and i have to remind myself every single day...and on really BAD days- several TIMES a day!!!
Hang in there girl...you can do it. When I was smoking, no one was more hooked than me (almost 5 packs a day- no joke)and if I can do it- anyone can.
I quit smoking 7 years ago and I had similar cravings.. I totally went with them though and did not try to fight them since I was having the worst time with the cig cravings :( I just made an effort to drink more water and walk more... like at the times when I would normally take a smoke break, I would go and walk around the block instead.
Good luck!!
